I love Lucy!

Lucy turned 3 on Halloween. I love living so close to her and being a part of her life. She is so bright and funny. I find delight in every moment I spend with her.

Happy Birthday, Goofy Lucy!

Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do.

Sunday was Lucy's blessing ceremony. It was such a wonderful day! For our family the day began a bit earlier than usual at 5:30 when we rolled out of bed. Several of the boys didn't open their eyes while I dressed them and then walked to the car and laid down and continued to sleep. We drove the 1 hour 53 minutes to the Coldwater Ward. Lucy looked like a beautiful angel in her handmade-by-Grammi dress, bonnet and blanket. The name and blessing ceremony left all but Lucy wiping away tears.

My favorite girls looking beautiful.

The children enjoyed their visit to a new ward. Every time I visit a different ward or branch, I'm thankful that the Church is the same everywhere you go. After church, we were treated to a nice luncheon at Tony's parent's home. The food was delicious, the children were well behaved and the conversation was enjoyable. It was such a nice day!

Cameron on no sleep.

I love being an aunt to Lucy. She is a lovely little baby. The thing I love best about her is how she has such bright eyes. She always looks like she is taking everything in. I look forward to watching her grow up and seeing the wonderful little lady that she is certain become.

She's an angel! She's an angel straight from heaven!

I visited Lucy and Anna and Tony three times today. The first time, I took Emily to see her. She was so excited. Lucy seemed to love being held by Em. She looked at her and was really calm and happy. The next time, I went back with Jodi so she could meet her. Jodi loved her and wanted to take her home. (Just a little aside: One of the tricky things about babies, that most women forget, is that baby's are like puppies. They aren't going to stay small and cute forever. Before you know it, they are coloring on the walls and answering every direction you give them with, "NO!" Jodi and I seem to forget this part as we long for babies. I know that I have forgotten it at least 4 times. Jodi must be smarter than me because she's only forgotten it once.) The last time, I went back with Chris and the boys minus Cameron. They were thrilled to hold Lucy and peppered Anna with questions. "Where did your belly go?" "What does that button do?" "Can we ride the bed up to the ceiling?" Typical boy things. I'm sure Anna and Tony and perhaps Lucy too were breathing a sigh of relief when we left.

If it's possible, Lucy is even cuter today. She is the spitting image of Tony. The only bit of Anna I see might be her lips and chin. I can't wait to see how she changes over the next few weeks. I'm loving being a new aunt again!

Baby Shower Part Deux

On Saturday, my Aunt Katie hosted a baby shower for Anna. All of my aunts attended except Annie and Diane. Many cousins were also there as well. Anna's friend Wendy from Lansing attended as well as our friend Jodi, who lives somewhere is Washtenaw County. Some of Tony's family also attended including his mother, grandmother, aunt and several cousins. Aunt Katie and her daughters Renee and Maria had lovely decorations and wonderful food! Aunt Annie made great lasagna. There was a yummy spaghetti salad, awesome bread pudding, great dip with chips...and much more but I'm running out of adjectives. All the food was wonderful! We played two games and Anna opened another mountain of presents. We made a pink beaded bracelet for Anna to match her necklace. Some of my favorite gifts she received at this shower are: the Barbie clothes from Nana Boner, the book for Lucy from Emily, and the Frogpod tub toy storage system from Carrie, Mary, Carrie, Annie, Carrie and Carrie and I know Chad has a Dawn.

I'm going to have to post a separate post later about my amazing family and how much they mean to me.

On the way home we drove through Westphalia to see that all the store windows were painted with the likenesses of Catholic saints. Including the bar(s). I have included the pictures of those as well. Anna, Emily and I got a good laugh over
them.
