Mortimer, we're back!

Some of you may have noticed that I disappeared almost two weeks ago.

My disappearance had to do with some problems with my computer. My computer and I have been the best of friends for almost four years. I built it from scratch (with the help of some Dell professionals) and have been caring for it like a baby since the day it was delivered. It has let me install all kinds of stuff from the internet on to it without ever catching a virus. I introduced over 10,000 pictures to it's hard drive over the years without one complaint. It let me install WOW on it without giving me a hard time. It was like the little engine that could. "I think I can. I think I can."

Several Sunday's ago it just had to give up. It had had enough. I picture it like the toy soldier who gets stepped on in "Toy Story." It gave all it could give and then urged me to "go on without him." I turned it on that day and got a blue screen with a scary error message. I called Tony, computer guru extraordinaire. He took a look at my baby for me and while all my data was safe (phew!) the baby was going to need some new organs and to be majorly vacuumed. He replaced the parts yesterday and I was able to take it home today. I kept thinking about it all night last night. I was going to be reunited with my baby. Would it still love me? Would it still respond? Would we share all our familiar jokes?

Today I picked up my dear CPU and brought it home to it's familiar spot on my desk. Home at last! I turned it on and it is running great. It was so happy to see me! It's like I was reunited with an old friend. I was reacquainted with my familiar haunts...the imdb, my google reader with all the blogs I read daily, the Toledo Blade obituaries, facebook. All the sites seemed like they were really happy to see me. "Jennifer, welcome back!"

So, I'm back and ready to post. I've missed writing in my blog and reading all of the blogs that I normally stalk. And Suzy, please tell me your blog name because I can't remember it and I can't get to it from anywhere on the net.
